Elsevier reported to Competition and Markets Authority

Today, Elsevier has been reported to the Competition and Markets Authority (the UK’s competition regulator) with regards to their anti-competitive business practices. The decision to do this now was caused by Elsevier’s insistence on including a non-disclosure clause in their new ScienceDirect agreement. Along with Martin Eve and Jon Tennant, I was a co-signatory of the letter in which we describe what appears to be abuse of a dominant market position, within a market sector with numerous problems. The full letter is available on Martin Eve’s website: https://www.martineve.com/2016/12/03/referring-elsevierrelx-to-the-competition-and-markets-authority/
